Under our instruction, you will make your own bread based on your preferences. After the course, you get your own sourdough starter from us, to take care of at home and use for baking in the future.
What does the course entail?
Although the entire process of baking sourdough bread takes 15-17 hours in reality, we go through each step in a shortened way.
- Feeding and maintaining sourdough.
- Introducing the different ingredients of bread (flours, seasoning and more).
- Preparing and kneading the dough.
- Raising and baking the bread.
While the dough rises, you can ask questions, chat, have a coffee and try the different baked goods in our bakery. There is also a beach a short walk away. Baking the bread in the oven takes one hour.
WHITE SOURDOUGH BREAD COURSE
Making white sourdough bread is very different from baking dark rye bread.
The entire process from feeding the sourdough starter to taking the fresh loaves from the oven takes up to 25 hours. We do the preparations for you, so the course itself takes 4 hours.
We teach:
- Feeding and taking care of the the sourdough.
- The different types of flour and ingredients used.
- Kneading the dough and preparing the molds.
- Raising the dough.
After the course, each participant gets to take home fresh, crispy bread and a new sourdough starter, to use for baking at home.
Duration and group size
- Duration: 2,5–4,5 hours
- Groups: 4–8 people. Businesses can potentially have larger groups on agreement.
- Location: Nõva Break bakery. On agreement, it can be possible to run the course in a different location.
